“I am really enjoying the webinars as they are very informative and based on very relevant topics, some of which have very little information available from other sources.”

Amy Kings Onlinepethealth Lecturer

Hypermobility in Dogs

with Amy Kings: Chartered Physiotherapist MSc Veterinary Physiotherapy, Bsc (hons) mACPAT, mHCPC, CSP

This talk focuses on the presentation of hypermobility, looking at both human and canine literature. Amy discusses her recent MSc research project investigating a correlation between skin extensibility index (%) and joint range of motion. This project was based on the pre-existing Beighton score used for the assessment of hypermobility in humans and the idea of a similar assessment tool for hypermobility in dogs which we currently lack. Linked to hypermobility are various other clinical presentations including anxiety and chronic pain. This talk aims to highlight some of these presentations to suggest a clinical picture for identifying hypermobility in dogs.”
